The history of the department

Undergraduate:

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

Department of Kazakh Philology was opened in 1989, when the University began training specialists of the Kazakh language and literature. The department had different names in different years. At the moment there are  7 doctors of philology, 2 PhD doctor, 12 candidates of philological sciences, 21 Masters of Arts and  philology , 10 senior teachers.

The chair in different years was headed by Candidate of Philology, Associate Professor Nurzhanova Zh., Doctor of  Pedagogical Sciences, Professor. Kurmanova N. Zh, doctor of Philological Sciences, Professor Tektigul Zh.O., Doctor of Philology, Professor Sadirova K.K., Candidate of Philology, Associate Professor Aitbenbetova A.K. Now the department is headed by candidate of Philology, Associate Professor Karagulova B.S.

In 2004-2010, at the department there was a postgraduate study in the specialty 10.01.02-Kazakh literature. In 1999-2010, the department was the leading organization in the specialty 10.01.09-Folklore studies on the discussion of scientific theses. Professor of the Department of A.M.Moldakhanov was a member of the Dissertation Council K14.44.03 at the International Kazakh-Turkish University named after H.A.Yasaui, under his guidance one candidate dissertation was defended.
